One thing growing churches need to deal with is when people start looking around and they don't recognize the people they see. Sometimes when this happens we start to feel like a stranger in our own home, and sometimes we even just stick with the people we know because they are who we are comfortable with.

Please please please, don't do that. When we see people we don't recognize in church we need to invite them into the life of our church and into our lives. We don't need to be weird or pushy about it, but walking over and introducing yourself is a great start. Asking them questions about their life and family are incredible ways to start getting to know them. 

"Hi, my name is Evan, how long have you been coming to this church?" "Do you have a family with you here today?" "What led you here?" 

Then listen to them and follow the conversation. Care about their answers. Care about them.

And at the end of the conversation you can simply say, "Thank you for chatting with me! I hope you have a great day and maybe we will chat again soon."

If you're here already, invite them in.

1.  AWC - We have several people lined up to get baptized on Oct 5th!

2.  Connection - I had a great LBA meeting where we updated our budget, took steps to get the entry to our parking lot fixed, and work on plans for ministry next steps!

3. AWC - I had an incredible meeting with our Ministry Department Leaders, with a lot of discussion, valuable feedback, and we were able to figure out a few things resulting in practical actions!

4. Connection - Pastor Brad and I have been able to have some pretty incredible conversations and connections with different people in the church and it feels like the people we have really get the mission!

As much as sin ruins our lives and leads us deeper and deeper into destruction, God doesn't require us to change before He loves us.  He takes the first step. He loves you, and those around you, even though we are sinners. Yet, we have a hard time loving others, especially those who sin against us. The only way we can love sinners like God loves sinners is to have His heart in us!

Romans 5:8

God loves sinners.

We have a number of projects, updates and maitenance details that need to be tackled this Fall and we need your help! 

Some projects are more involved, needing an expert and some people to lend a hand. Other projects are simpler requiring anybody who is willing to do the work.

We will be getting pizza and beverages for those who come to help.  

Thanks for putting this in your calendar and planning to lend a hand on Saturday Sept 20th!

Konnect the Tots is a playgroup for parents and kids that takes place every Thursday from 9:30-11:30 at Amherst Wesleyan Church (6 Maltby Ct). There are toys and activities set up in the basement of the church for kids to play with! Everyone is welcome! (Enter through the parking lot side door!)

Sunday Sept 21st we will be having a special extended service that goes an extra 30min longer. This allows us to do some special things we don't normally get to do on Sunday!

Join a night of worship for the whole family!

Our Worship Team will be putting together a special evening where we can gather to worship God as young and old together. 

A monthly time to learn, hear testimonies, grow in your faith, find support, discover opportunities for mission work and how to share your faith.

This month we will be spending time in worship and prayer, learning about missions and connecting with one of our Missionary couples.

This couple will be sharing on Sunday Sept 28th as well!

We will be starting to collect candy and looking for volunteers for this year's Trunk or Treat happening on Oct 25th!

On Sunday October 5th we will be holding our annual Baptism Sunday which is an incredible time to get baptized!

If you are interested in getting baptized, or would like to know more about what it is or why it matters, you can talk to Pastor Evan or Pastor Brad or even reply to this email!

Open to all who are interested. Discover practical leadership principles to apply to your context. Free coffee and snacks provided!

When we update and properly maintain our facility it allows us to do more ministry longer.

Join us as the Church comes together as ONE with other congregations from across our region in prayer for 12 uninterrupted hours.

Join us at the West Highlands Elementary Gymnasium for games and lessons designed to help kids grow in their confidence and character development.

Starting up again this Fall (Startup Date TBD)

Come learn English and about life in Canada. This is open to everyone. We want to make this course available to everyone regardless of their economic situation.
