As we face problems and trials in our lives, and as we work to share our faith with others I can't overemphasize the importance of prayer. If you want to know what you should do next, you need to pray about it. If you want your family and friends to know Jesus, you need to pray about it.

Now, when I say "pray" or "prayer" many of us get this idea of kneeling beside our bed saying poetic things and begging God for our wishes. That's not what I'm talking about. So, let me say it without using the word "prayer."

If you want to know what you should do next, you need to have a conversation with God and find out what He says you should do. If you want your family and friends to know Jesus, you need to ask God to intervene miraculously in their lives and ask Him what you should do and when.  You need to be listening for His instructions and His timing. 

We are in a dynamic war here that isn't just about doing A and B and C. What needs to be done, and when they need to be done, changes based on the circumstances of the battlefield. Without prayer (ongoing conversation with God) it is like being in the middle of a battle without radio contact with your commander.  

If you want your church to grow, your neighbours to be saved from sin and shame and addiction, and to make your way through the problems you face, you need to be talking to God. (not just talking, but listening, as you do in any healthy conversation)

We need to be people of prayer.

1.  AWC - 8 people got baptized on Sunday! And we have two more scheduled for this Sunday coming!

2.  Connection - We have the baptism of a teen planned for this coming Sunday, and conversation is happening about having more baptisms soon!

3. AWC - There is significant anticipation for Small Groups to start up again, with multiple people asking about them or pestering me about when they are starting!!! 

4. Connection - I went through our Membership Class with 4 people a few days ago, and it is looking like our ranks are growing!

Whether you are already a Christian, are looking for answers or really don't think this Jesus stuff is for you, it is hard to argue with the changed lives of those who get baptized. It shows us, or reminds us, just how good God is and how much He wants to do in and through us.

Spend time in silence, at the altar, or with a group praying.

Special focus will be given on the last Tuesday of each month to Missions and our Global Partners.

Come learn English and about life in Canada. This is open to everyone. Participants may be asked to cover the cost of workbooks, but if for some reason you are unable to cover that cost, you can still participate. We want to make this course available to everyone regardless of their economic situation.

Open to all who are interested. Discover practical leadership principles to apply to your context. Free coffee and snacks provided!

Join us as the Church comes together as ONE with other congregations from across our region in prayer for 12 uninterrupted hours.

A night of worship. Songs, Prayer, and creative elements will be used to set aside time to simply focus on God and give Him glory.

Join us at the West Highlands Elementary Gymnasium for games and lessons designed to help kids grow in their confidence and character development. 

For kids in Grades Primary to 6

We will be starting to collect candy and looking for volunteers for this year's Trunk or Treat happening on Oct 25th!

Konnect the Tots is a playgroup for parents and kids that takes place every Thursday from 9:30-11:30 at Amherst Wesleyan Church (6 Maltby Ct). There are toys and activities set up in the basement of the church for kids to play with! Everyone is welcome! (Enter through the parking lot side door!)

When we update and properly maintain our facility it allows us to do more ministry longer.
