Prayer at the Heart of Everything

As I reflect on the past few seasons of my life, it is clear to see how prayer has been the foundation - not just in my own walk with Jesus, but also in the lives of people around me and all that I have been taught by wise leaders. What a privilege it is that we can pray, and what a blessing it is to pray with others. I am so thankful for the spaces of prayer we can have as the church, as well as mundane moments that become something much more when we pray.

No matter where you are on your faith journey, prayer is at the heart of everything. Prayer meetings are not another ministry we have; rather, it is what fuels the rest of our ministry. In moments when we long to help, bringing our concerns and requests to the Lord is the best thing we can do. Jesus is closer than we can grasp, and He longs for us to speak to Him. He is always listening to His children.

I have been so deeply touched by those I have had the honour of praying with, or those who I know are praying for me. Each of us, as disciples, have the opportunity to lift each other up in prayer. Imagine the delight the Father has when He sees His people praying for one another! And we cannot even comprehend the impact - present and eternal - that our prayers can have.

1.  AWC - It is getting to the end of the week and I still have several tasks to complete because so much of my time has been focused this week on having some incredible conversations with several different people. Totally worth it!

2.  Connection - It seems like every week we are seeing new faces either visiting or checking us out, and then we have been seeing many of those new faces coming back!

3. AWC - I have been hearing more reports about how impactful our services are being, and it doesn't seem to matter if someone is brand new or been here for years, God is stirring hearts!

4. Connection - We need to redo the flooring in the nursery and because of our partnership with Souls Harbour we are going to be able to get it completely replaced for a great deal!

Some of us focus on loving people by what we can do. Others of us focus on loving people by what we allow or fight for them to do. Neither of those things actually has the affect it needs to have on them though. What we need, and need more than anything else especially as a church, is to love the way God loves us.

Loving like God needs to be our first priority.

A night of worship. Songs, Prayer, and creative elements will be used to set aside time to simply focus on God and give Him glory.

A Paint Night for women!

Bring your family, but leave them downstairs at the church while the men watch the kids and eat snacks.

Women get to gather upstairs and spend time painting and connecting!

Last Tuesday of each month at 7pm!

A monthly time to learn, hear testimonies, grow in your faith, find support, discover opportunities for mission work and how to share your faith.

This evening will involve different elements, sometimes with prayer, worship, connecting with Global Partners or developing your confidence in sharing your faith with others.

Join us for an extended service where we will include something special we don't normally get to do on Sunday morning when we are together.

Service will start at the usual time of 10:30am but will last 30min longer to end at noon.  Kids Ministry will last the extra 30min as well.

Tuesdays 7pm - AWC Downstairs

Come learn English and about life in Canada. This is open to everyone. Participants may be asked to cover the cost of workbooks, but if for some reason you are unable to cover that cost, you can still participate. We want to make this course available to everyone regardless of their economic situation.

Join us at the West Highlands Elementary Gymnasium for games and lessons designed to help kids grow in their confidence and character development. 

For kids in Grades Primary to 6

5:45 - 6:45 pm

Konnect the Tots is a playgroup for parents and kids that takes place every Thursday from 9:30-11:30 at Amherst Wesleyan Church (6 Maltby Ct). There are toys and activities set up in the basement of the church for kids to play with! Everyone is welcome! (Enter through the parking lot side door!)

Have you downloaded the free YouVersion Bible App? You should.  It allows you to read the Bible in multiple translations, and many with the option to read it to you. It has guided reading plans, and ways you can work through those plans with others.
