Drawing Near To GodBy Pastor Emma When I think about relationships - with family, friends, spouses, neighbours - each relationship is benefited by what is called a bid for connection. This is like a turning towards, a stepping out to show that you see and care. Relationships flourish when both parties have a willingness to make this bid, as it brings a togetherness and a sense of unity that cannot be made any other way. To turn towards someone is to give space for connection as opposed to turning away and creating division. I'm sure we've all had moments where we've experienced a "turning away", and we're familiar with the power that this disconnect has; a feeling of hurt and sadness. Choosing to turn towards someone and see them is exactly what the Lord does for us.
James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” We know that He is for us and with us… but any relationship is a two way street. Think of the bids for connection Jesus has made towards you! He gave His life in hopes that you would choose to turn towards Him and live in the fullness of His abundant love.
How are you choosing to draw near to Him this week? No matter your circumstances, He promises to never be far. Read Psalm 139 to grasp how close He really is! Choose to make time to connect with the Lord - He promises to draw near when you do.

Wins
Amherst Wesleyan: 1. The timing of our messages continue to surprise us as they seem to hit just the right people at just the right time. 2. We have new faces on the worship team. Connection Church: 1. The board met Monday night and decided to bring Pastor Emma's finance onto our staff team starting this July! 2. It was amazing how the songs the worship team sang lined up so perfectly with the message from God's Word on Sunday! |

Caton's Island Kids Camp
Caton’s is offering fourteen different camps this summer for all ages. Don’t hesitate to register our camps fill up fast! Caton’s Island is a unique place. Situated in the Long Reach, the 120 acre island is a small piece of paradise. Originally named “Emenenic” – meaning ‘Isle of Prayers’ or ‘Meeting Place’ – a historical monument marks it as the first European settlement in New Brunswick, est. 1611. Take a walk along the scenic trails that wind through the old-growth forest of massive hemlock, mighty oaks, and towering pines. Visit the remote beaches to sit in quiet solitude, and take in the splendid beauty of the river dotted with sailboats. View wildlife, such as eagles, osprey, and owls, along with deer, rabbits, partridge, raccoons, and the various shorebirds, which often make their home here. You’ll soon realize that there is something extra-ordinary about this island. To all this, add energetic campers having fun playing, swimming, or worshiping God, and you will begin to grasp the true distinctiveness of Caton’s as a summer camp – a place where kids learn, grow, and experience life.
