Visionby Pastor Evan Things are ramping up already, and exciting things are happening. There is a temptation in the Fall to get back into a rythm of busy-busy-busy, and I want to ask you all to pause before you do that. Take a moment to really consider what you are doing, when you are doing it, and why. I'm not saying you need to become a hermit, but simply make sure that you are asking God about your schedule, decisions, priorities and investments before you dream everything up and commit to something that He isn't in.
I had this thought the other day, and I think it fits with this moment of pause.
Policies and Princples can't replace Wisdom, and Wisdom can't replace the Word of God.
Trying to solve problems or make decisions with principles and policies is useful, but sometimes those principles don't apply and trying to make them apply creates a bigger problem. You need wisdom to know when and where principles are applied and what to do when they just don't fit. Likewise, you need the Word of God to guide wisdom and even sometimes go beyond wisdom to catch onto what God is doing in the moment.
So, take a moment and pray about your Fall before you get too busy.
