On the Battleground
The enemy never stops. He is alway scheming, always finding ways to lead humanity astray and away from God. But God never stops either - and we know He already has the victory. Lately, I’ve been seeing more & more of the ways that the enemy is trying to steal, kill, & destroy (John 10:10). Even in my own life, it seems that he is aware of my weaknesses and has been finding ways to amplify them or trip me up because of them. During those moments of discouragement, I know that the blood of Jesus has the final say; I can breathe deep and pray with boldness from a place of confidence in the protection of the Heavenly Father. As I reflect on this more, I am beginning to realize the lengths that the enemy goes to thwart God’s plan for us. From the smallest of lies and misinterpretations, to the larger misleading and having us step onto the wrong path… there truly is a spiritual war that we are part of. You know that grudge you hold? The offence you feel? The disdain? The frustration? Those are tricky little invitations from the enemy, guiding us away from living wholeheartedly in the will of God - His will is one of forgiveness, surrender, grace, and patient love. This world and life is a battleground, for which we need to intentionally and actively fight for the Lord’s will to be done. How have you experienced the enemy’s whispering (or yelling), to focus your attention on the lesser things? What can you do this week to be aware of this, and choose God’s truth instead? One thing I know we can all do is this: pray. Plead the blood of Jesus as your authority, power, and victory. He has us, and He promises that. While this side of heaven is a battleground, we know that Jesus holds the keys to death - His Word is final. We know how the story ends. In the meantime, we are urged to fight for Christ and take back what the enemy has stolen. — “Spiritual warfare is very real. There is a furious, fierce, and ferocious battle raging in the realm of the spirit between the forces of God and the forces of evil. Warfare happens every day, all the time. Whether you believe it or not, you are in a battlefield. You are in warfare.” -Pedro Okoro “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 NKJV “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NKJV “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.” 1 Peter 5:8-9a NLT |

Amherst Wesleyan: 1. We had someone approach us last week to offer help with our social media and after further conversation we were able to get them plugged into our system and start producing social media content and reminders that will make it easier to remember what is happening at AWC and give you a way to share that content with others. 2. It feels like God is moving in a lot of people lately as we continue to have people reach out for deeper conversations, others ask about ways they can serve, multiple people coming together already on the same page for events and projects and simply watching so many people show up to serve! Connection Church: 1. There is growing excitement around the Galentine event happening this Saturday, and Pastor Emma has had to do hardly anything for it because the people of the church already stepped up to get it done! 2. We are seeing more and more people finding their places, being generous, wanting to serve, and being open to fill in gaps. We keep getting surprised by just how generous and willing the people at Connection are! |

Garbage RelationshipsJunk Food - Sunday, February 8, 2026 Some relationships are good, but they need work. Other relationships are simply destructive. We tend to justify and make excuses for both of these kinds of relationships though, or we don't even realize what they are doing to us. They can actually have a bigger impact than even teh food we eat. So, when we stop to think about our relationships we need to understand that: Evil isn't part of a healthy relationship. 1 Corinthians 13:6
