Vision
We made it through the Summer! Yeah, there was some weird dynamics with Brad being off and with me splitting myself between Amherst and Truro, but we made it! We have less than two months until Emma starts in Truro. And with Brad back it will be a lot less weird on the Sundays when I am in Truro. And that will get even better in November. We are almost there! There are two things I want to keep in front of us though. 1. Things are changing in Amherst and Truro, and certain things aren't going back to the way they were. We are entering a new stage for our churches and how we operate will continue to develop and change. If you feel you are metaphorically married to how we have organized and run things in the past, you may not like it. We aren't changing just to change, and we aren't compromising on our values, beliefs or focus. Like carpenters, mechanics, quilters, surgeons, cooks, etc. who need to learn new techniques and strategies to do more and do it better, we need to change some things to reach more people and have a greater impact on their lives. 2. We are doing this to reach more people and have a greater impact on their lives. Some of the sacrifices you have made this Summer have already made an impact on 40+ people in Truro. That's 40+ people we weren't impacting at all before. And as things continue to ramp up, that number is going to grow. We will see more people in Truro reached and more people in Amherst reached. We will see lives changed, families saved, and miracles take place in greater and greater ways in Truro and in Amherst. And I believe by taking the step to partner with Truro, and make the necessary changes and sacrifices, we will actually increase our impact in Amherst. It's like the little boy who gave his lunch to Jesus to feed 5000+ people; we aren't robbing Amherst to feed Truro, we are changing and sacrificing to see miracles happen. We are down-to-earth people. Let's go together. |
Wins
1. I am back from vacation, Brad is back from his leave, and all things are right in the world now! (sorta) 2. Pastor Emma (Campus Pastor of Connection Trurp starting Oct 27th) has secured an apartment to move to in October! 3. Our leaders in this church are eager to get back to leading and discipling this Fall, and I can see them just itching to get started. 4. I've had a couple different leaders reach out to me about concerns or issues they felt they needed to talk through with me, and I am so pleased that they care enough to do that and that they are brave enough to be honest! We really do have some incredible leaders here. |
