Vision
Two notes: 1. Next week, Wednesday May 18th at 7:30pm we will be holding our Annual Business Meeting. There we will discuss the past year and look forward to what's next. This meeting is open to everyone! We will be looking at the budget as part of this meeting and seeing, after the past two pandemic years, what we need to do now. 2. Starting June 6th Pastor Sheryl will be going on Sabbatical. She will be around a couple Sundays through the Summer to preach, but will not be doing her regular duties during this time. She has a few courses that need to be completed before her ordination service in July 2023. She will be on Sabbatical until Sept 18th so she can focus on those courses and be ready for the CRAZY season of ministry we expect this Fall. Between June 6 & Sept 18, if you would normally contact Pastor Sheryl about an issue, you can contact either Pastor Evan or Pastor Brad. |
Wins
1. It is exiciting to see people get reconnected on Sunday, and begin to lean again into genuine concern and care for those around them. We really aren't just people in the same place at the same time, we are a community! 2. Konnect Play (our mid-week kids sports ministry) wrapped up for the season with about 18 kids present! Also, it wrapped up because that was our plan, not because of pandemic restrictions for once! 3. Our Building Team is having a work day on Saturday, and our Outreach Team is having a Games Night Friday, and it is remarkable watching them get ready and delegating to their teams and volunteers. Our leaders don't exist to just get stuff done, they exist to get everyone involved, to fill them with purpose and power, to give direction, and to see us all grow. Many of our leaders used to just do the job themselves, but now they are seeing not just the task as their purpose, but investing in you as their purpose! They believe in you! They believe God has put you here to do incredible things! And they are going to give all they can to help you see that too! And these leaders aren't lazy, handing things off because they don't want to do them, no they are some of the most hard working peolpe I know!! |
Is Honesty Worth the Risk?Building Better Relationships - Sunday, May 8, 2022 So often in our relationships we are faced with the false dilemma of either being honest or saving our relationship. Lying has become part of our culture and part of our strategy in relationships, but it creates fractures that will eventually damage our relationships. There is another way though! Loving honesty builds mature relationships Eph 4:15 For more infomation visit: http://amherstwesleyan.com/media/2022-05-08-is-honesty-worth-the-risk
