Vision
We are not supposed to attack each other with judgments. We are supposed to encourage other Christians daily though. If you take both of those principles together you may think that we shouldn't talk to each other about the issues and sins we see in each other, but that makes a critical error. Encouragement isn't about making someone feel good, it is about helping them grow in strength and courage. Ignoring the sins and issues we see in each other doesn't encourage them, it sabotages them. Ignoring the sin in a fellow Christian's life isn't doing them any favours. Sin left unchecked will bring harm and death. Would leaving a scorpion on your friend's back be considered encouragement? We aren't supposed to point out sin so they can be diminished. We point out sin so they can be saved. I have stopped not asking people about the health of their marriages. It may feel awkward to say, "how's your marriage doing?" But I would rather ask the question and help them save it than avoid the question and watch their marriage die. Don't attack each other with judgments. Encourage each other daily. |
Wins
1. 7 Teens attended a workshop on Saturday morning to learn about their callings! 2. I got this message this week from someone attending our church: Your sermon [was] Bang on with what's happening and letting us all know and realize God's not late. He's waiting for us. Waiting for us to smarten up and accept Him fully, waiting for us to confess our sins and shame and waiting for us to reach out to others. And last night (the Worship Night)... wow! You could feel the holiness around, and the love... [it was a] wonderful hour of music to listen to, absorb and pray over. It was a great day of worship. 3. I've had several conversations over the past week with leaders in our church, and have been so encouraged by their humility to take correction and direction, their passion to grow in Christ, and a growing awareness of what God is saying to them! |
Why is God Taking So Long? Can I Go Home Now? - Sunday, February 25, 2024 Waiting is hard. At some point it can get so hard that we actually start to wonder if what we are waiting for will ever happen. It can feel that way with God's promises. It can feel that way with Christ's return. Will it ever happen? Were we wrong? Is He ever coming back? Is He even there? Peter understood that struggle and wrote to the church about it 2000 years ago. 2 Peter 3:9 God's not late; He's waiting for us.
