Special Prayer Request: Our teens are attending Encounter at Kingswood University this weekend.

Serving in different ways as part of a church isn't just about filling in gaps. We don't have volunteers serving because the pastor can't do everything. Actually, pastors are here to help get you involved in serving because it is so valuable for you in your walk of faith and because that's how the kingdom of God has the biggest impact.

You have been given gifts by God for the purpose of spreading the Kingdom of God! We want to help you develop those gifts and have a greater impact on your family, friends, coworkers, in-laws, and even your enemies. One of the biggest things you can do to impact your own faith journey is to get involved in ministry. Nothing will push you to grow more than serving. 

It is a challenge growing in your faith when you start serving, but it will make an enormous difference in your life and in the world around you.

1.  AWC - Friday night the youth collected 50+ items for the foodbank!

2.  Connection - Pastor Emma is officially here and was welcomed by DS Peter Moore last Sunday!

3. AWC - We are having some incredible conversations with leaders about accountability and conflict that are both really hard but also really rich. I am amazed by how our team is accepting this process of growth and maturity!

4. Connection - We held our Trunk-or-Treat on Oct 31st despite the rain, and handed out 95-100 invites (one per family/group), Emma had lots of chats with community members who were happy to be in the church and happy about how Brad is running youth!

It is so easy to get lost in the trials and the complications of life. We end up down paths we don't want to go and make bad decisions, but all the time don't really know what else we are supposed to do. That's not what God wants for us though. God wants to show us the path forward, and I believe He has.

To stay on the path of life you need the Word of God.

This year as part of our annual Christmas Wrap-Up we are collecting winter items for the shelter in town. There will be a bin in the church where you can place donations you would like to make towaards this project.  Here are some of the items they are looking for:

- Hats

- Mittens

- Scarves

- Longjohns

- Winter Socks

- Boots

and ANYTHING ELSE to help someone stay warm in the cold

A night of worship. Songs, Prayer, and creative elements will be used to set aside time to simply focus on God and give Him glory.

With our annual Christmas Wrap-Up happening soon we are raising funds to help support families in need! Join us for a night of music and an auction of baked goods to support those in our community this Christmas!

Admission and Refreshments are by donation.

All proceeds go to support those in need this Christmas, like through our Christmas Wrap-Up projects.

Sunday Nov 23rd our morning service will be 30min longer to allow for a special presentation.

We like to keep you updated on how things are going at AWC and in an effort to keep you informed each year we put out a mid-year business update with highlights from the year so-far and where we are headed next. Our church year runs from May-April, so this is about the midpoint for us.

Join us as we develop the practice of prayer.

Learn how to hear God better.

Learn how to pray more effectively.

Spend time in silence, at the altar, or with a group praying.

Special focus will be given on the last Tuesday of each month to Missions and our Global Partners.

Tuesdays 7pm - AWC Downstairs

Come learn English and about life in Canada. This is open to everyone. Participants may be asked to cover the cost of workbooks, but if for some reason you are unable to cover that cost, you can still participate. We want to make this course available to everyone regardless of their economic situation.

Join us at the West Highlands Elementary Gymnasium for games and lessons designed to help kids grow in their confidence and character development. 

For kids in Grades Primary to 6

5:45 - 6:45 pm

Konnect the Tots is a playgroup for parents and kids that takes place every Thursday from 9:30-11:30 at Amherst Wesleyan Church (6 Maltby Ct). There are toys and activities set up in the basement of the church for kids to play with! Everyone is welcome! (Enter through the parking lot side door!)

When we update and properly maintain our facility it allows us to do more ministry longer.
