Vision
I know this isn't directly related to church matters, but I feel like there is so much confusion and change going on that we need a little bit of clarity as we move through June! With the news releases yesterday here is basically what it all means for us: 1. As of June 23rd everyone from NS, NB, PEI and NL should be able to travel between these provinces without isolating. Though, you may need to fill out a travel form. 2. Right now we can gather together in groups of 10 total indoors without physical distancing or masks, and groups of 25 outdoors without physical distancing or masks. 3. AWC & Westchester will remain Online-Only for June 20th & June 27th, but will be back in-person on Sunday July 4th. Services will be 9:30am & 11:00am in Amherst, and 2pm in Westchester.
In case you were wondering (slightly more confusing details ahead): 1. The Government of NS is allowing churches to gather at 25% capacity now, but with the lack of time to prepare and organize volunteers, the quick turnover of restrictions and changes and short-term application of these changing rules we feel it is less confusing and more effective to stick with our original plan of returning to in-person services on July 4th. 2. The Government of NB is allowing residents of Cumberland County to enter NB now, but NB residents still can't enter Cumberland County without isolating for 14 days, and anyone who enters NB and returns to Cumberland County will have to isolate for 14 days. This will change on June 23rd when isolating on both sides of the border will no longer be required. |
Wins
1. We are getting closer to the Atlantic Bubble and to In-Person Services, and we can see people inside! 2. It's looking like Brad will be able to move here without having to isolate at all! 3. We can now begin meeting with volunteers and the Worship Team can begin practicing for our July 4th relaunch! |
Farewell to the Gregory's and Melanson'sSaturday June 26th, 1pm @ AWC Here we are…it is the middle of June and the Gregory’s and the Melanson’s officially leave AWC the end of this month. So, let’s send them off in style!!! Well, COVID style that is. With all of the changing restrictions we have had to improvise. Hop in your car and come on over to AWC for a farewell parade on Saturday June 26th at 1pm. We will have two spots (one for the Gregory’s and one for the Melanson’s) where you can drop off cards/gifts. AND we will have a very special place for them to sit and see you all drive by! Decorate your car (if you want), honk your horns and wave. Let’s show them how much we love them! If you can't join us that day and would like to leave a card or gift for the Gregory's or the Melanson's please contact Pastor Sheryl to drop it off ahead of time. We will also be posting a farewell video on Sunday June 27th on our Youtube Channel: AWC Church. |

At AWC
Online Services & Re-Opening Plan We are doing only Online Services for June 20 & 27, due to the present COVID restrictions in NS. We hope you can join us online at 10:30am this Sunday! We should be back to In-Person services at 9:30am and 11am in Amherst and 2pm in Westchester on Sunday July 4th. Senior Volunteers We hope to launch events when COVID cases decrease. Sharon Taylor has stepped up to lead the effort to minister to and reach the seniors of our community, and she is hard at work developing ideas, putting events together and recruiting a team of leaders! We still need lots of volunteers though, especially to run events. We need all sorts of volunteers to serve in lots of different ways. If you're willing to serve, reach out to Sharon at 902-669-1330 (Mobile) and let her know! |
