Vision
We just celebrated Easter, the victory Jesus had over sin and death. It is kinda the "biggest weekend in Christianity." Yet, now the celebration is over, some of us are tired out from all the work that went into the weekend, and all of us are faced today by the reality that our world is broken, sin nature has a strong grip on humanity. We celebrated victory and now it feels like we are right back into the battle, in the middle of the struggle again. It can feel like quite a dissappointment. What did Easter really give us? This battle we are in isn't a short-term battle. This life we live is fighting against spiritual forces. Easter didn't make the battle go away, that's not what it was intended to do. Easter was supposed to give us power and hope for the battle. We may be facing hard things, but because of Jesus at Easter, we have the power of God to endure, to survive, to beat the odds, to do good when everyone else is doing evil. Because of Easter, we have hope, the promise actually, that some day the battle will be over and we will be on the winning side! You see the battle doesn't end until Jesus returns, until He comes back. We're expecting it, but we also know that day will be a terrible day for those who are lost. The time we have between now and then is granted to the church to look for and fight for and reach the lost. There are still more lives to save before the battle is done. And we will see lives saved because of the power and hope Christ gave us on Easter!

Wins
1. We have been praying for someone who has been battling cancer, and we've been told that after two scans to verify it, the cancer is gone! That is God answering your prayers and God doing miracles! 2. We had two people get baptised on Good Friday, and the celebration of God's victory was incredible! 3. Our Konnect Play has seen a couple really fantastic victories lately, one being that a few of the kids have come on Sunday mornings for the first time! The second thing is that this past week during the lesson time one kid was so amazed by the lesson that God has a plan for them, they shouted out, "He really has a plan for me?!" |
Prayer Project
We encourage everyone to take time to fast and pray each Thursday at lunch. This Week's Project: Those of you who have been part of AWC for some time, try to think of someone who hasn't been out to church in a while and pray that they would come back. Those of you who are new to AWC, take some time to pray for more new people to find Christ in our church. |
