There is a story in the Gospels about the disciples trying to cast out a demon from a man but they are unable to do it. Jesus tells them that it is beacuse some demons can only be cast out by prayer and fasting. To be honest, I don't completely understand the implecations of that, but simply taking it at face value I think we need to acknowledge that there are certain problems, obstacles and spiritual forces we will face that can't be defeated through skill, resources, effort or cleverness. They are only dealt with in the name of Jesus through prayer and fasting.

I think this is something we need to accept in this next stage of our church. We need to pray and fast. I think it is the only way we will break through the obstacles in our way.

1.  AWC - I have approval to replace the folding chairs in the basement, I am just waiting for them to be back in stock so I can order them!

2.  Connection - We have sent off our final payment on the roof loan! 

3. AWC - Preparations for the bake auction fundraiser are going well, and the most incredible part of that is watching our ministry leaders (who are volunteers) building confidence and executing tasks with excellence!

4. Connection - We have a new motto for Connection Church: Following Jesus and Finding Our Places; Let's Go Together!

We all have things that we try to hide. We are all familiar with embarassment.  We think we need to keep them secret because if people knew about them, they wouldn't want us anymore. Well, nothingis hidden from God. He knows all your secrets, and He still loves you.

Psalm 139

God know everything about you and He still wants you.

This year as part of our annual Christmas Wrap-Up we are collecting winter items for the shelter in town. There will be a bin in the church where you can place donations you would like to make towaards this project.  Here are some of the items they are looking for:

- Hats,  Mittens, Scarves, Longjohns, Winter Socks, Boots, and ANYTHING ELSE to help someone stay warm in the cold.

With our annual Christmas Wrap-Up happening soon we are raising funds to help support families in need! Join us for a night of music and an auction of baked goods to support those in our community this Christmas!

Admission and Refreshments are by donation.

All proceeds go to support those in need this Christmas, like through our Christmas Wrap-Up projects.

Sunday Nov 23rd our morning service will be 30min longer to allow for a special presentation.

Are you interested in getting baptized? Talk to one of our pastors to start the process.  We have a baptism scheduled for Nov 30th already!

Our annual Christmas Wrap-Up is a time for us to rally together to bless our community and meet needs this December. Our team is working on all the details to put these projects together for us, but some of the things we do are:

- free gift wrapping

- buying presents for families in need

- putting together food boxes for families connected with West Highlands Elementary

- caroling at nursing homes

Our Konnect Kids have been working hard to prepare for their Christmas Pageant.

Join us on Sunday Dec 15th at 10:30am for this special presentation and celebrate the meaning of Christmas!

Choose from either 7pm on Dec 23rd or 7pm on Dec 24th to join us for a Candlelight Christmas Celebration!

Come as you are, or come in your Christmas best, to celebrate the coming of Jesus with Christmas carols, special music, candles, a place to take a family Christmas picture, and maybe another couple special things too!

Tuesdays 7pm - AWC Downstairs

Come learn English and about life in Canada. This is open to everyone. Participants may be asked to cover the cost of workbooks, but if for some reason you are unable to cover that cost, you can still participate. We want to make this course available to everyone regardless of their economic situation.

Join us at the West Highlands Elementary Gymnasium for games and lessons designed to help kids grow in their confidence and character development. 

For kids in Grades Primary to 6

5:45 - 6:45 pm

Konnect the Tots is a playgroup for parents and kids that takes place every Thursday from 9:30-11:30 at Amherst Wesleyan Church (6 Maltby Ct). There are toys and activities set up in the basement of the church for kids to play with! Everyone is welcome! (Enter through the parking lot side door!)
