Exciting Update

Good Morning AWC!

I just wanted to update you on the situation with our sister church in Truro. The members of the Wesleyan  Church in Truro (named Connection Wesleyan) voted unanimously yesterday to have me as their new Lead Pastor! I have accepted the position. 

What does that mean for AWC?

1. I am still your Lead Pastor. I will be the Lead Pastor for both churches.

2. I will officially take on the added responsibility of the Truro church starting July 10th.

3. I will be spending some time in Truro on a regular basis. I anticipate one day a week.

4. It is our intention to hire a staff pastor to oversee the day-to-day operations of Connection Church and preach on Sundays, and depending on who we get for that position Pastor Brad may be running Youth Ministry in Truro.

5. If for some reason we are not able to get a staff person for Connection before July 10th, I will probably need to be at Connection on Sundays. This would result in either AWC having a fill-in preacher those Sundays or through the magic of technology we could set up a live-stream where AWC watches me preach on the screens as I preach at Connection. I understand this isn't the preference, but it is a realistic temporary option.

6. There may be opportunity for individuals from AWC to serve in different ways at Connection. If that seems like something you might be interested in, pleaese reach out to me so we can chat about it.

7. We are not done with Amherst, and we are not done taking ground in Amherst. Our mission field has just become wider, and we will become closer with our sister church. Really, we are working to make our Connection stronger. 

Please be praying for God's anointing and favour on this new work, and for wisdom around hiring a staff person for Connection.
