Vision

Many of you know that we base what we believe on the Bible. We can be confident in this because of the historical and archaeological evidences that support the text of the Bible, because of its principles and statements remaining true throughout the generations, because of our present experiences with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, because of changed lives, because there is significant scientific support for its content and events, etc. We believe this is God’s Word to us, all of us.

There are lots of people in our world who don’t believe that, and don’t want to adjust to what God says is right and wrong. They may say nasty things, there may be red hot tempers, violent accusations, and some of the most upside down illogical statements you can imagine will be said and written. None of that changes what God says though. Even when you feel like EVERYONE else is against you and what you believe, hold on. You don’t need to return evil for evil, but you don’t need to give up either, even when you want to.

Based on God’s Word we believe that children, born and unborn, are precious in His sight and should be protected. We believe that sex was designed to be between a man and a woman in an exclusive relationship for life. We believe that we should be grateful in all situations, rejecting covetous and greed. We believe the greatest way to show love is sacrifice. We believe Jesus alone, not politics or science or riots or social media, can change and save us. We believe that no one should be attacked, abused or hated based on their religion, skin colour, ethnicicty, sex, oreintation, social status, bank account, past failures, appearance, or vocation.  Well, actually, we believe no one should be attacked, abused or hated.  We believe that Jesus is God, the only God, and He died and came back to life to save us from sin and death. We believe that sin is real and has real, eternal, consequences if left unresolved through Jesus. We believe God still does miracles. We believe we are given good things to bless others and protect those who are most vulnerable in our world. We believe God wants us to come to Him just as we are. We believe God wants to remake us to be like Jesus. We believe God cares about our bodies, our minds, our emotions, our souls, our families, our world.

This is our last newsletter until the Fall. Keep your Bibles close and hold to what God says, always. See you on Sunday.

You Can't Have it Both Ways

You Can't Have it Both Ways

Your Personal Religion? - Sunday, June 19, 2022

Can you imagine going on a diet and still eating whatever you want whenever you want? Yeah, you probably can, but it doesn't work very well does it?! If we want to see a change in our lives we can't keep living the same way. The new way has to take over and the old way has to stop. It's the same with our faith.

Colossians 3:1-17

To have new life means the old life has to die.
