Cultivating Gratitude
Some days, I struggle to be grateful - or, at least, to see all the blessings around me. I am thankful for the Spirit, who hears us when we pray for His will to be done. Join me this week in reflecting on & praying through this liturgy from Every Moment Holy: Rites of Passage by Douglas McKelvey.
- Pastor Emma
That I would not make of your grace something commonplace, simply because it pervades all moments in time.
I should see it as more wondrous for its ceaselessness, not as less.
I do not want to live my life unmoved by your mercies, assuming such gifts simply as my due.
It is true that you give freely, but would I not meet such unmerited provision with indifference.
I would rather learn to name and recognize such blessings, cultivating holy habits of gratitude and thanksgiving.
Now open the eyes of my heart, O Lord, not only to see how your own grace is indeed every moment lavished on me, but to consciously receive and savour such costly gifts, to delight more deeply in all you give.
Let me over time become one whose faithfulness matures beyond childish entitlement;
whose gratefulness is expressed in reflective praise and in graceful acts of service — a legacy built well across the span of all my days. In Jesus name. ~Douglas McKelvey

Wins
Amherst Wesleyan: 1. About $2000 was raised on Sunday to help send out teens to OneCon, a massive annual youth rally happening in Moncton with a couple thousand teens gathering to seek Jesus! 2. I have been having many conversations about taking hard steps towards obedience in Christ and people are receiving these challenges, facing them, and seeing the fruit already! Connection Church: 1. Kids Ministry Leaders are starting to feel a lot of positive anticipation for what God is doing and how He is setting them up for next steps! 2. This past week we saw a great number of people stick around after service to connect with each other, we are seeing people coming back more and more, and we even had someone share with us how God healed them from some longterm pain in their life! |

OutsidersRuth - Sunday, March 8, 2026 We are constantly surrounded by "outsiders." They are there in our church, in our community and in our social settings. The question is, what do we do about it? Do we push them away, do we try to protect the insiders, or do we invite them in? Deut 10:18-19 Outsiders have a special place in God's heart.
