AWC Updates

Amherst Wesleyan Church
AWC Updates 18 April 2025

Vision

The message we share this weekend isn't something we only talk about once a year, and it isn't anything new for most of us. It is a powerful time for us as a church because we devote more focus to such a pivotal moment in history and our lives, but it is also an incredible opportunity.

With the baptism happening tonight and the celebration of Jesus' resurrection on Sunday, many people who aren't following Jesus are open to being in the room. The message is powerful, and if we can get the lost, hurting, empty, fearful, wandering and ashamed into the room, maybe the Word of God can pentrate their hearts and bring them back to life.

If you've got people in your life who need this message of hope, take the opportunity this weekend to invite them out to taste and see that God is good and has hope for them. Many people just need to have a real experience with Jesus. If they are open to coming because it is Easter weekend, let's get them here so they can meet Him.

Wins

1. Soul's Harbour is finding their rhythm here in Amherst and the numbers of people attending is growing!

2. The AWC board met on Sunday and looked at our finances. We feel we need to continue watching the finances before we can make any long term decisions about Pastor Brad, but we feel confident committing to keeping him on at least until he goes on Pat Leave at the end of June!

3. We have been working on plans for this year's Big Give happening on Saturday June 7th, and a number of groups are already joining in!

4. Our English as a Second Language group has been able to make connections with peope in our community and even help meet some needs lately.

Broken Parts

Broken Parts

Dead or Alive - Sunday, April 13, 2025

Broken things left broken will only create more problems. Eventually, we come to a point where the broken thing needs to be replaced. The same goes for our heart. Because of sin, our hearts are broken and no amount of self-help or ignorance can fix that. God promises through His Word to give us a new heart. We just simply need to let Him fix us by surrendering to Him.
