AWC Updates

Amherst Wesleyan Church
AWC Updates 21 Sept 2023

Vision

Today I listened to a couple of the messages Pastor Sheryl and Pastor Brad preached over the Summer. WHOA! They were solid and hard hitting! AWC had some powerful direction from God this summer through the ministry of our staff!

One idea that they shared was simply that now is the time to dive deep into God. Now.

It's easy to put things off, come up with excuses, and accept the idea that we are "just too busy." Except, we find the time for other things, don't we.

I believe God spoke clearly to us through the preaching of our staff. Now is the time.

Now is the time to pray.

Now is the time to dig into the Bible.

Now is the time to share your faith.

Now is the time to surender your life to Jesus.

Now is the time to accept and offer forgiveness.

Now is the time to lead our families.

Now is the time to reach our family and friends.

Now is the time.

Wins

1. We have begun planning for Christmas Eve and the discussion has been passionate around how we can create a time that engages our unchurched family and friends, and is easy to attend with kids. I can feel the energy growing already!

2. I had someone message me this week and say, "I love that this church is so alive!"

3. As I met with our ministry leaders on Sunday afternoon we discussed a new experiment for some special services in the new year, and it was exciting to hear all their ideas and start to catch a vision for where God is leading our leaders and our church next year!

4. We held our first Bible Study and Prayer Meeting last night, with about 20 in attendance and such a fresh and powerful sense of the Spirit in prayer. I am excited to watch this grow and see how prayer becomes a sweet craving in our church.

Live to Lead

Live to Lead

Peter: A New Way - Sunday, September 17, 2023

I spent a lot of years interacting with the people around me as if I was KFC; I was different than them, I felt I was better than them because of my faith in Jesus, but I wasn't concerned with sharing with them the recipe. Also, like KFC, I know a lot of people left their interactions with me wondering if they ever wanted to do that again. That's not how we are supposed to live. That's not why we are here. Peter makes that very clear when he writes to the church.

1 Peter 3

Your life should lead others to life.
