Vision
During the prayer walk on Tuesday, I felt the Holy Spirit say to me, "You need to outlast the enemy." Jesus asked the disciples to pray with Him in the garden, but they couldn't even last an hour. When the Israelites took the city of Jericho they had to walk around the city once a day for six days and then 7 times on the 7th day, then the walls came down. Jesus was in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights and endured the temptation and attack of satan. Jesus told a parable about a corrupt judge who finally gives into a widow's pleas because she kept coming back over and over and over again. It takes time to wear down the enemy and the hold he has on people and places, but we so often give up too quickly. This can't be a, "pray once and be done," thing. We need to be a people of prayer. Going back to the LORD and marching against the enemy over and over and over again. We need to be anticipating God to show up, expecting Him to speak throughout our days. We need to be listening all the time for what He wants to say to us, and we need to endure. The enemy doesn't want to give up his hold on this town, our kids, our marriages, our wallets, but with the power of Christ we can outlast him and take back what he has stolen. Don't give up. Keep praying. |
Wins
1. One of our church members felt the need to organize a casual potluck after service on Sunday so people could simply connect! Not only did it go incredibly well, but it was amazing to see people taking the initiative to do things like this! You don't need to wait for a pastor or one of our ministry departments to do something, you can make things happen, just like this church member did! 2. I'm hearing more and more stories about how you are taking care of each other without anyone having to tell you to do it! Getting toys for kids in the service, mowing someone's lawn, giving rides to people without vehicles, and on goes the list. You are blowing me away, seriously amazing! 3. On Tuesday we participated in the Canadian Wesleyan National Prayer Tour, by doing a Prayer Walk in 5 different locations across town. There was a few neat community connections from it, lots of insights from the Holy Spirit and I think a strong statement to the enemy that he has no claim on our kids or this town! |

The Tabernacle and JesusFinding Jesus in the Jewish Feasts - Sunday, May 21, 2023 The Jewish Tabernacle, and later the Jewish Temple, were central elements to many of the feasts and celebrations they were instructed to observe every year. When we take a close look at the design of the Tabernacle and the practices associated with it, we get a clearer picture of what Jesus did and who He is! Exodus 40 The Tabernacle helps us see Jesus more clearly! For more infomation visit: http://amherstwesleyan.com/media/2023-05-21-the-tabernacle-and-jesus
