Vision
Our Annual Business Meeting is next Wednesday at 7pm, I hope many of you can be there to reflect on the past year and dream about what is next for AWC. On Tuesday May 30th we are participating in the National Prayer Tour. We will be praying in 5 strategic locations that evening from 7-8pm. We are asking everyone who can make it to sign up on the next two Sundays for one of those 5 locations. Check out this video to hear about this Prayer Tour and why we are part of it HERE! You can see what other churches are doing as part of the Tour HERE. |
Wins
1. VIP Sunday was so exciting! We had 161 people in the building, which is our highest attendance Sunday over the 8 years I have pastored here, outside of Easter or Christmas presentations! And many of the people who were here were new! You invited and they came!!!!!! As Debbie Allen says, "Wow God!" 2. Our church business year runs from May 1 until April 30, so we just completed a business year. We have been carefully and nervously watching the finances as we have been behind most of the year. Yet, miraculously, by the end of April we actually brought in more than we spent for the year and brought in more than we had budgeted to bring in!!! 3. A number of people reported that they had piles of good conversations before and after service on Sunday! People are coming earlier and staying later to talk! 4. I have received A LOT of feedback about how welcoming our church is for kids! I had three moms tell me directly how much it means to them that a little boy can interrupt the sermon and be welcomed and loved in the church! 5. Our Building Team led us in a Work Day on Saturday and they were able to get a pile of stuff done with the people who showed up. Thank you for your sacrifice of time and energy! |

Choose to be ChosenFinding Jesus in the Jewish Feasts - Sunday, May 7, 2023 The Jewish Festival of Purim celebrates God's victory during the time of Esther. It remembers how Haman set out to destroy the Jews, but God made a way to save His people and destroy Haman instead. This story gives us a glimpse into how God would save His people in Jesus, taking the intentions of the enemy and causing them to backfire. Genesis 50:20, Esther 4:14 & 9:20-22, Colossians 2:13-15 Nothing will stop God from making a way for His chosen people.
