AWC Updates

Amherst Wesleyan Church
AWC Updates 16 Feb 2023

Vision

Two things for today:

1. Last Sunday we had our highest attendance in 3 years. We were having ask people to change seats so that we could fit everyone in! So, we have added chairs to the sanctuary, with about 190 total seats in place. This should allow us to fit in more people, but there is the possibility that we will have to be more intentional about where we sit.

2. Please check out the Volunteer Board in the lobby this Sunday. Feel free to take any of the tags that seem interesting to you and then reach out to our leaders for more details. I don't want those of you who are serving diligently to feel like you need to do more, but if you aren't serving consistently yet, please check it out!

Update Your Information

It's Tax-Receipt time!

Please follow this link to update your information with us, as it will do two key things:

1. This helps us to get you any tax receipts in your name.

2. It will help us know how to better serve you.

(Even if you have updated your information recently, it is helpful for you to do this every year with us)

Wins

1. Football Sunday was incredible! Our own half-time show was great! The turnout was great! The fresh faces we saw were great! The atmosphere was great! Definitely an event we will want to invite more people to next year!

2. We continue to see our teens inviting their friends to youth, and they are coming!!!!!! Their bold faithfulness with the Gospel is reaching those around them!

3. We are seeing leaders encouraging other leaders on their own initiative.  They aren't waiting for someone else to do it, and they aren't waiting for the pastors to do it. They are seeing the needs, noticing God's leading, and acting.

I Hate Being Wrong...

I Hate Being Wrong...

Stand OUT - Sunday, February 12, 2023

I do not like being wrong. It's seriously one of my least favourite things. It hurts, it's embarrassing, it makes me feel like a failure. I think most of us don't like it and do what we can to avoid it. Sometimes we do things that don't make any sense in an attempt to avoid it! It is especially problematic when we are avoiding the correction that comes after being wrong. We need that correction, because without it we would remain on the wrong path, doing the wrong thing, unable to get what we need.

Titus 1:10-16

To be on the right path, we need to accept correction.
