AWC Updates 13 Jan 2023

Vision

Today and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday Jan 13-14) we are doing a staff and leadership team retreat. We are going to a site in NB to take time to reflect on the past two years and look forward to what God is calling us to next. It isn't a lot of time, but we hope it will allow us to gain a better sense of what God is saying.

Please be praying for the staff, board members and department leaders as we meet, talk and pray together. This isn't just a leadership development retreat or even a professional development opportunity, this is about making sure we are lined up with what God is doing. This is a spiritual thing. We need our church praying for us as we do this.

Wins

1. I don't usually highlight our attendance numbers because there are so many more things that show us how God is moving, but this past Sunday we had 141 people in the building! Our average attendance pre-pandemic was less than 120!

2. One of our key Seniors Ministry leaders was unable to run the seniors lunch this past week, and her team stepped up and ran it with excellence! Not only is that a display of servant hearts, it shows how our ministry teams are growing and being equipped to lead!

3. We got some feedback from parents with teens and have decided to change the time our youth group meets. All the feedback and reponses have been positive, even to the point where new doors are opening for more teens to join in!

Don't Get Distracted

Don't Get Distracted

Set Your GPS - Sunday, January 8, 2023

We all understand what it's like to get distracted, whether when driving or when just trying to do chores around home. Sometimes the distractions are harmless, but when it comes to the direction and destination of our lives, there can be massive consequences. As a society we have made distracted driving illegal, because of the risk it poses to ourselves and others. The same risk exists in our life goals when we allow distractions to get in the way.

2 Tim 4:5

Don't get distracted, it's not worth the risk.
