Vision

War is a horrible thing. Sometimes wars have been fought in order to stop great evil, sometimes they are fought out of a lust for power, out of hate, out of vengeance, or out of greed.  Regardless of the reasoning, it always does harm. It was never part of God's intention for creation, and before sin entered the world, there was no war. It remains an unnatural element of our world, and it remains no matter how horrible it is. Sometimes we become accustomed to it, accepting of it, as long as it doesn't directly affect us or somehow violate what we normally expect from war. Sometimes we tolerate it better when adults are killed in war, but become hostile ourselves when children are harmed.

I am very grateful for those who have fought, been harmed, suffer from PTSD and chronic conditions, or have died because they were protecting my family and I in war. They have, and are, entering an unnatural situation in order to protect others. We should remember them and be thankful. But, we must also remember how horrible war is, always is. It should make us more grateful for those who fight for us, but also more desperate for Jesus to change hearts.

Jesus is the only solution to the problem of war.

Wins

1. Leaders are being prepared by God and placed in the right spots for the right times, way beyond what we as pastors could have done.

2. Some of our teens attended a youth rally at Kingswood University where they heard challenging messages and had some solid experiences.

3. God is already stirring in people to search, and they are asking about services and events. They are asking you because of how God is working in you. You have been obedient to not be embarrassed of your faith in Jesus and people are starting to notice Jesus more.

Hostile Audience

Hostile Audience

Deep Clean - Sunday, November 5, 2023

When we are surrounded by people who don't believe in God, are critical of Christianity, or even hostile to our faith, it can be very difficult to even admit that we believe what we believe. We fear their rejection, their attacks, their influence over others we care about, and whatever else they might do to us. When God calls Ezekiel to be a prophet though, God makes it very clear who he should fear, and it's not his audience.

Fear God, not the people we are called to reach.

Ezekiel 2:3-8 & 3:17-21
