Vision
We are seeing our ministry leaders begin to grasp the passion for prayer and are growing in their focus to make it part of the culture of their individual ministries. Part of our strategy to create a culture of prayer at AWC is our mid-week Bible Study. Wednesdays at 7:30pm we dig into some aspect of Christian doctrine or essential skill, then we spend 30 min in prayer in small groups. These first few Wednesday nights have really helped us develop our prayer lives but also grow our faith in the power of prayer. If you want to see a culture of prayer in your family, it starts with you spending time in prayer. If you want to see a culture of prayer in your school, it starts with you spending time in prayer. If you want to see a culture of prayer in your community, it starts with you spending time in prayer. If you want to grow in your faith, it starts with you spending time in prayer. If you want to see your kids grow up with a strong connection with God, it starts with you spending time in prayer. If you want to see Jesus have authority wherever you go, it starts with spending time in prayer. If you want to push back the enemy and see lives saved and changed, it starts with spending time in prayer. Set a reminder on your phone, rearrange your schedule, and make prayer a priority in your life. I hope to see you out on Wednesday. |
Wins
1. My boys were playing with an ottoman this week, one laying inside it, the other standing beside it. They were pretending to baptize each other and were saying, "Jesus is life, Jesus loves you." They also pretend to be robots that shoot blood, but it's incredible to see that something good is sinking in! 2. Team members, not just our ministry leaders, are saying, “we need to pray about that.” The culture of prayer is growing!! 3. I have had a couple conversations this week where people have either challenged me or shared critical feedback, and not only do they respond with a teachable spirit when I give some push-back but they also have helped me gain insight and incredibly valuable perspective! |

Why Am I Not Free? Please Forgive Me - Sunday, October 15, 2023 I have three young kids and trying to keep them all alive is very challenging some days. Our three-year-old especially keeps us occupied to the point of consuming all of our time and energy at times. It seems like we can't get anything done with him thinking he is an adult and can use sharp knives or drive cars or whatever other life-threatening thing he feels he can do. This happens to be a lot like how many of us feel when holding onto how others have wronged us; it occupies all our time and energy so we can't get anything productive accomplished. Freedom requires forgiveness. Eph 4:26-27, 32 & Matt 18:21-22 For more infomation visit: http://amherstwesleyan.com/media/2023-10-15-why-am-i-not-free
