Vision
I've found myself getting excited for the Summer and the Fall. The lifting of restrictions, the new beginnings and opportunities, the changes and new projects. As things allow and details come together I hope to see a number of these things happen in the next 6 months. They aren't garunteed, but it is nice to dwell on hope. I'm excited that we might get: - Brad and Olivia moved-in in July - Get back to meeting in person on Sunday mornings - Running a modified Konnect Kids Camp in August - Launching a new leadership development and training program - Relaunching Small Groups that will be able to meet in person - Investing in a Mid-Week Kids Program (maybe sports focused) - Going to ONE BIG Sunday morning service in Amherst - Special Outreach events like Games Nights, Coffee Houses, Date Nights and Seminars - Seniors events, including lunches and guest speakers - Joint events with Westchester (maybe a 4-wheeler rally??) - Baptism Oct 3rd! - Maybe a joint project with other churches in the area where we all work together to bless our communty like other churches have done in the maritimes (Love Week)? - Hearing more testimonies on Sundays Oh man! I don't know what will come to be, but I know that thinking about the possibilities not only fills me with hope, but it makes the darkness seem so much smaller, so much less significant! Thinking about this stuff gets me PUMPED! We will get through this and we will see the Kingdom of God take back what the enemy has stolen! Hang in there! |
Wins
1. The teens took part in an online version of One Conference this past weekend! 2. The building team has continued to work on our building and finding ways to get the water away from the foundation. These guys just don't quit! 3. In doing our annual statistics for 2020-2021 our average attendance was 83 on-site and 35 online. That's 118 total, which is exactly what our average attendance was last year! Tracking these numbers isn't perfect, and numbers aren't everything, but it is a fun little confirmation that God is still working here, and COVID hasn't won! |

Finding Your Personal ValueMental Health Checkup - Sunday, May 23, 2021 Matthew 3:1-17 Who's you are makes you valuable, not what you do. So often we try to earn our value, we try to change what people think of us or make up for the mistakes we have made in an attempt to be worthy. Sometimes we try to simply follow all the rules to be "good enough." God tells us though that doing good actually is supposed to spring from our value, from already being loved by Him. We don't need to earn it, we simply need to let Him have us. For more infomation visit: http://amherstwesleyan.com/media/2021-05-21-finding-your-personal-value

At AWC
Online Services Only We are doing only Online Services for May 2 & 9, due to the present COVID restrictions in NS. No on-site services until restrictions change. We hope you can join us online at 10:30am this Sunday! Senior Volunteers Our May Seniors events have been cancelled. We hope to launch events when COVID cases decrease. Sharon Taylor has stepped up to lead the effort to minister to and reach the seniors of our community, and she is hard at work developing ideas, putting events together and recruiting a team of leaders! We still need lots of volunteers though, especially to run events. We need all sorts of volunteers to serve in lots of different ways. If you're willing to serve, reach out to Sharon at 902-669-1330 (Mobile) and let her know! |
