Vision
COVID cases have hit close to home lately, for some this is the closest it has been so far! The media is jumping on the discovery of a new variant, that they really aren't sure whether to be concerned about or not. Winter is approaching and Christmas is just around the corner. People are nervous that if there is another outbreak the borders might close, or we might not be permitted to gather at Christmas. Tensions are running high. Here are 7 things you can do to help manage that tension: 1. Stay United Especially as members of the Body of Christ, we can't turn on each other. We need to encourage each other and not tear each other down, support each other and not judge each other. 2. Stay Connected Prioritize time with those you have healthy relationships with, and invest in things like Small Group that feed your soul. 3. Practice Empathy Don't assume your way of thinking is the only reasonable option. Try to understand how others think and feel, why they may be reacting the way they are. 4. Exercise We are physical beings, fresh air and activity do wonders to clear our heads and hearts. 5. Take a Media Break Turn off the News, take a few days away from social media and just remove some of the noise from around you. (Move your social media apps to a folder or last page on your phone so you are less likely to open them by habit.) 6. Pray Specifically and Out Loud Talk to God about your specific situations, ask for things with detail and do it out loud. This helps make us aware that prayer is real, and not just wishful thinking. 7. Be Ridiculously Thankful Yes, ridiculously thankful. Be thankful about everything, go way overboard with it. Be thankful for even the hard things. Be thankful for even the pains. You will be amazed by the change it makes in your own heart, and you will see more and more how God is at work! |
Wins
1. We've got a number of really talented people lined up to perform live music at our Coffee House tonight, and our Outreach Team has done an incredible job recruiting volunteers to make this all happen! 2. Dwayne continues to recuit volunteers for projects! It is exciting to see so many gifted people get involved. We would be excited to have even more people serve with our Building Team too! 3. We had to make some last minute changes on Sunday that gave our Worship and Tech Teams about 15 minutes to adjust, and they simply took a breath, got to it, figured it out and managed to serve with incredible professionalism and excellence! I doubt anyone would have even known anything changed if I hadn't mentioned it right here! God just showed up and worked through our volunteers and teams! |
