Vision
This week I have some updates and some thoughts to share... 1. Our Coffee House has been postponed until Friday Nov 26th. 2. Youth Group is on hiatus until further notice. 3. I have receieved no communication from Public Health about exposures at AWC, meaning we have not had any known exposures at any of our gatherings. 4. As we become more familiar with the details of Public Health's rules and recommendations we continue to adapt to keep our community safe. Now, I feel I must be clear on a few other things. I am a pastor and we are a church. I am not a policitian, public health official, biologist, or an entity of the government. My job and our mission are to help people follow Jesus, that's it. Everything we do is about that. We help people be more and more like Jesus. We reach those who are vaccinated. We reach those who are unvaccinated. We minister to the rich, poor, happy, sad, healthy, sick, strong, weak, young, old, single, married, divorced, etc. We do all that as Jesus would in our situation. All to help people follow Jesus. We cannot become gossips, judgemental, proud, consumed by fear, or so rigidly committed to non-essentials that we become divided and distracted from the mission. Jesus said that the world would know we are His followers by how we love each other. Don't get lost in the noise of the media, the agendas of our culture, or the fear of our world. We are the people of God, we are people of hope, faith and love. Don't let anything compromise that.

Wins
1. Someone reached out to me this week about getting baptized! Anyone else wanna get baptized too?? 2. I am amazed by how God is using the problems we face to actually create good! For example, I think our new Coffee House date and plan are actually better than the original! 3. I have been so impressed with how the leaders in our church (volunteers and staff) have remained so positive, wise and passionate through all of this! I feel like every time I talk through a problem with one of our teams they just figure it out! |
