Vision
I'd like to share three thoughts with you today. 1. I asked you to pray for Konnect Play last week, and we have already seen God's blessing on this new program. Prayer is both simple and complex. It is simple in that anyone can do it and you don't need to do anything special for it to be real. It's complex in that it is a conversation with God and like all relationships there is give and take, there is sharing and listening, there is asking and receieving. We need to be a people who pray. It is vital for our own lives, but also for this mission we are part of. Please start or keep praying for our community and that the lost with come to life in Christ! 2. I haven't seen this much here in Amherst, but I have noticed a troubling division forming in other communities and churches, and I want us to avoid it. With COVID and all of the pandemic restrictions in place weighing us all down, we now have a situation where the question of vaccination is starting to tear us apart. There is a lot of fear and pride behind this, on both sides. I am seeing people make statements as if there is no question about their perspective, and yet it's pretty easy to see some massive differences between how provinces in our own country are dealing with this crisis. When you look around the world, the perspectives get even more diverse. I'm not arguing for or against the vaccine or vaccine mandates. I'm arguing that we need to all humbly accept that we are all trying to live our lives based on our best guesses. And they are guesses at this point. Remember that we exist to bring Glory to God, and especially as the church we need to be united in that. Don't let our difference of opinions and guesses tear us apart. We need to fight for each other. Love each other, even when we disagree, especially when we disagree. Historically, the church has valued caring for people and saving the lost more than personal safety. Love your neighbours. Love them. 3. We need about 4000 pieces of candy for our Trunk or Treat that happens on Saturday Oct 30th. If we get those 4000 pieces by Oct 29th, someone will pie me in the face on Sunday Oct 30th. So, bring on the candy!! |

1. Our first service without distancing and with singing permitted in over 18 months happened last Sunday. It was a powerful gathering! 2. We have made a change to our youth program and now encourage grade 6 students to attend EDGE Youth Sunday nights! We actually had a couple show up this past Sunday already! 3. Last week we launched our Konnect Play program. It is a sports based mid-week program that teaches kids athletic skills and faith-based character lessons. Last week we had 8 kids show up, this week we had 19! |
I Can't Do It!What's Your Calling? - Sunday, October 10, 2021 God calls each of us to be and do something. When that call comes, it is very natural for us to simply think of all the reasons why we can't do it. It might be a lack of ability, skill or resources, but we come up with any excuse we can. Yet, those things were never a requirement for the call... Exodus 4:11-17 God isn't calling you because He thinks you can do it on your own, He's calling you because He knows He can do it through you! For more infomation visit:
